Overview
To upgrade your add-in subscription to Expert Edition, please click on either A or B.
A) I am upgrading a subscription to Expert Edition
B) I am renewing a subscription and want to upgrade it to Expert Edition
When purchasing an upgrade from your current subscription to Expert Edition, the upgrade fee will be calculated in your account and, when finalizing the purchase, your subscription will be converted to Expert Edition AND extended by 1 year.
NOTE: If your license was purchased for you by someone else, you cannot upgrade it yourself. Only Subscription Owner, Reseller and License Manager accounts can upgrade licenses. Please contact the subscription owner and request they perform the upgrade for you.
A) Upgrading an add-in subscription to Expert Edition
This section will show subscription owners how to upgrade Office Timeline subscriptions to Expert Edition. There are 3 main steps you must follow, in this order:
Step 1
1.1. Go to the Subscriptions tab in your account, locate your subscription card, and click the green "SEE OPTIONS" button on the "Check your upgrade options" banner.
1.2. In the window that pops up, click the pricing button in the Upgrade to Expert column, and then review & finalize your purchase.
Step 2
Download and install the latest version of Office Timeline. This is an important step. Please be sure you have the latest version of Office Timeline before you continue to the next step.
Step 3
After you’ve installed the latest version, open PowerPoint and you should see Office Timeline Expert in the ribbon:
This means your upgrade has been activated automatically and you can start making Expert Edition timelines and roadmaps.
If the Office Timeline tab still shows your former license when you open PowerPoint, you will need to refresh your license to activate Expert:
- Go to Help -> About on the Office Timeline ribbon.
- Click Refresh in the window that pops up.
Troubleshooting
If, after refreshing the license and relaunching PowerPoint, your ribbon in PowerPoint still does not show Office Timeline Expert, simply deactivate your old license key and then reactivate it. You will need your product key to do this.
- Open the Help menu from the Office Timeline ribbon and then click on Deactivate Machine.
- Click Activate on the ribbon and enter your product key.
If this activation fails, it is most often because of firewall restrictions or connectivity issues. Please activate following these steps:
- Manual activation (should work in case of firewall restrictions)
- Offline activation (in case of no internet connectivity).
If you still encounter issues, don't hesitate to contact us.
B) Renew an expiring subscription as Expert Edition
