How to upgrade your existing Plus subscription to Pro

Overview 

To upgrade your subscription to Pro Edition, please click on either A or B.

A) I am upgrading an eligible Plus subscription to Pro Edition for Free*
B) I am renewing a Plus subscription and want to upgrade it to Pro Edition**

 

*If you have a current Plus subscription that was created before October 1, 2019, you are eligible for a free upgrade to Pro Edition, until December 31, 2019.

**If you are upgrading a non-eligible subscription, the upgrade fee will be calculated in your account and, when purchased, your subscription will be converted to Pro Edition AND extended by 1 year.

 

NOTE: If your license was purchased for you by someone else, you cannot upgrade it. Only Subscription Owner, Reseller and License Manager Accounts can upgrade licenses from Plus to Pro. Please contact the subscription owner and request they perform the upgrade for you.

 

 

A) Upgrading an eligible subscription to Pro Edition

This section will show eligible subscription owners how to upgrade Plus subscriptions to Pro Edition. There are 3 main steps you must follow, in this order:

  1. Owners click the Upgrade to Pro button in their account

  2. Users download latest build from our website

  3. Users refresh license inside the app to activate the upgrade

 

Step 1 

Go to the Subscriptions tab in your account and click the Upgrade to Pro button on the Subscription Card.

Step 2

Download and install the latest version of Office Timeline.  This is an important step.  Please be sure to install the latest version of Office Timeline before you continue to the next step!

 

Step 3

After you've installed the latest version, follow these steps to refresh your old Plus license key from inside the add-in and activate Pro Edition:

  • Go to Help -> About on the Office Timeline ribbon.

  • Click Refresh in the window that pops up.

Troubleshooting

If, after relaunching PowerPoint, your ribbon in PowerPoint still does not show Office Timeline Pro, simply deactivate your old license key and then reactivate it. You will need your product key to do this.

  1. Navigate from the Office Timeline ribbon to the Help menu and then click on Deactivate Machine.deactivate-machine.png

  2. Click Activate on the ribbon and enter your product key.activate-button-office-timeline-ribbon.png

If this activation fails, it is most often because of firewall restrictions or connectivity issues. Please activate following these steps:

B) Renew an expiring Plus subscription as Pro Edition

30 days prior to the expiration of your Plus subscription, you will be presented with the option to Renew as Plus OR Renew as Pro. Renewing as Pro means your subscription will be extended for a year AND upgraded to Pro at the same time. To do this there are 3 main steps you must follow, in this order:

  1. Owners click the Renew as Pro button in their account

  2. Users download latest build from our website

  3. Users refresh license inside the app to activate the upgrade

 

Step 1

Go to the Subscriptions tab in your account and click the Renew as Pro button on the Subscription Card.

Step 2

Download and install the latest version of Office Timeline.

 

Step 3
