      Error 1001 During Installation or Update

      Symptoms

      When you attempt to update the Office Timeline add-in from a previous version to the latest build, you receive an error message that says, "Error 1001. An exception occurred while uninstalling."

      Solution

      Use the Microsoft Uninstall tool to cleanly uninstall Office Timeline and then install the latest build. Follow the steps in the Uninstall Office Timeline article.
