Overview
The Office Timeline add-in provides 3 easy ways to hide Swimlanes or Sub-swimlanes. You can do it in the Data view, in the Timeline view, and directly from your slide as well. Here’s how it works.
A) Hide Swimlanes & Sub-swimlanes from the Data view

Click Edit Data on the Office Timeline ribbon to open the Data view.

Here, hover over a Swimlane or Sub-swimlane title and then click on the 3 dots next to it to open the options menu.

Finally, select Hide Swimlane (or Hide Sub-swimlane) from the menu.
After you click Save, Office Timeline will conceal the whole lane from your timeline slide, along with any items in it, while still keeping its data available in the Data view for your reference.

To unhide a hidden lane, simply click the eye icon you’ll see next to its title in the Data view, and Office Timeline will instantly bring it back on your timeline slide.
B) Hide Swimlanes & Sub-swimlanes from the Timeline view

Click the Edit Timeline button on the Office Timeline ribbon to open the Timeline view.

From the Timeline view, select a Swimlane or Sub-swimlane and click the Hide button visible on the top task bar.
After you click Save, Office Timeline will conceal the selected lane from your timeline slide, while still keeping its data available in the Data view for your reference. -
To unhide the hidden Swimlane or sub-swimlane, you’ll need to go to the Data view and click the eye icon next to its title.
C) Hide Swimlanes & Sub-swimlanes from straight from your slide

From your timeline slide in PowerPoint, select the header (make sure you select the rectangle, not the text box) of the lane you want to hide and simply press Delete.
- Office Timeline will automatically hide the entire lane from the slide, while still keeping its data available for your reference in the Data view.

To unhide a Swimlane or Sub-swimlane you’ve hidden directly from your slide, go back to the Data view and click the eye icon next to the lane's name.
